The iconic adidas Superstar has been reimagined in several American locales, with special colorways celebrating Houston, Atlanta, New York City, and now Chicago. The adidas Superstar II “Chicago” is slated to arrive in April 2025.

About the adidas Superstar II “Chicago”

DTLR’s design director, June Sanders, recently unveiled the adidas Superstar II “Chicago”, which incorporates numerous nods to the city through its color scheme and unique design elements. The shoe features a Black tumbled leather upper, which extends to the tongue and the signature Three Stripes.

The edges of the midfoot Three Stripes are accented with serrated panels in yellow, red, and green, potentially inspired by Chicago’s Transit Authority (CTA) train lines. The heel tabs showcase the Blue and red of Chicago’s flag, split between the left and right shoes. Additionally, the right heel displays a cloud-borne figure blowing wind, a reference to the city’s “Windy City” nickname.

A White rubber midsole and a clear, transparent outsole complete the design, with the latter featuring a map of the city’s transit system.

Release Details

The adidas Superstar II “Chicago” is scheduled for release on 18 April 2025 via DTLR and select retailers, both online and in physical stores. The shoe will be available in a full-family sizing, priced at US$110 for men’s, US$80 for grade school, US$70 for preschool, and US$55 for toddler sizes.
