[ONE PIECE Card Game] The Blue/Purple Luffy Deck Is the Metagame’s Newest Dominant Force
One of the few decks to be genuinely top-tier right from the jump.

Almost immediately after the release of A Fist of Divine Speed [OP-11] in March 2025, the Monkey D. Luffy Leader card from that set became the centerpiece of a new deck which rocketed to the top of the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame. The Blue/Purple Luffy deck has been dominating tournaments all over Japan and will likely do likewise once A Fist of Divine Speed [OP-11] launches internationally in June.
Strategy
This deck makes much use of DON!! ramping in order to activate its Leader card’s effect. Once the player has eight DON!! cards in hand, that effect will enable the player to select one Straw Hat Crew card from the top five cards of the deck and place it in hand. On top of that, the player will also have the opportunity to place the other four cards either on top of the deck or at the bottom in any order desired. This therefore allows the player to manipulate the deck’s draw sequence while also building a resource advantage by searching out important cards.
An important card for the purposes of DON!! ramping is Mr. 2 Bon Clay (Bentham) from the Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01]. When played, that card allows the player to add a DON!! card from the player’s DON!! deck and set it as active.
Ideally, the deck’s Leader effect would be used to bring in the Sanji card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06]. A hugely powerful high-cost Character card in its own right, that card can subsequently be used to play an additional Character card with a cost of 9 or less after the top card of the deck is revealed. In this way, two high-cost Character cards can be played on the same turn.
Price
Buying all the cards in the Blue/Purple Luffy deck costs at least 33,970 JPY (~US$230).
