Several Sky Striker cards were reprinted in their alternate-art versions in the recently-released Quarter Century Art Collection. One of these cards was Sky Striker Ace – Kagari—a card which has just made its first appearance as a Quarter Century Secret Rare.

About Sky Striker Ace – Kagari (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP059)

One notable point with regard to this card’s alternate artwork lies in its relevance to the Sky Strikers Ace arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories manga. The character depicted is an upgraded Fire Link version of Sky Strikers Ace – Raye—the protagonist of that story arc. The imagery is taken from Chapter 5 of the Sky Strikers Ace arc during Raye’s fight against Roze: specifically, the scene when Raye uses her Sky Striker technology to engage her Kagari Maneuver Weapon.

The alternate illustration is directly connected to that of the Sky Striker Maneuver – Afterburners! card. That’s because the image shown on the Sky Striker Ace – Kagari card is intended to lead to the scene shown on the Sky Striker Maneuver – Afterburners! card. In addition to this card’s relevance to the manga, the fact that it depicts a female character further elevates its value.

Due to this card’s interaction with the Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! card, this card was limited to one copy per deck in tournament play from April 2019 to January 2020 in Japan and Asia-Pacific; this restriction was in place from January 2019 to December 2022 elsewhere. This, however, is no longer the case as the Sky Strikers deck has largely been powercrept since; there are no longer any restrictions on this card.

A Sky Striker Ace – Kagari (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP059) card of Quarter Century Secret Rare rarity sells for 3,500 JPY (~US$23).
