[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] Called by the Grave (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP015) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
This new version's illustration could barely differ more from that of the original.

The version of Called by the Grave in Quarter Century Art Collection is not this card’s first Quarter Century Secret Rare iteration; it showed up in the rarity which Konami created to honor the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG’s 25th anniversary as part of the Rarity Collection Quarter Century Edition. However, like all other Quarter Century Art Collection reprints, this new iteration comes with all-new alternate artwork.
About Called by the Grave (Quarter Century Art Collection QCAC-JP015)
The general vibe of the new artwork could hardly differ more from that of the original. Instead of the original horror-themed, dark imagery, the new illustration makes use of a cutesy cartoonish art style. This time around, the scene showing a hand emerging from a grave is implied to be from a video game being played by Live☆Twin Ki-sikil and Live☆Twin Lil-la. Background sprites of their online avatars can be seen in the imagery as well.
This card doesn’t just benefit from the usual “female character value boost”; Live☆Twin Ki-sikil and Live☆Twin Lil-la are major fan-favorite characters even among female characters because they’re based on female VTubers and their online personas. There’s a major overlap between TCG fandoms in general and fandoms of real-life female VTubers. In addition, for those who remember the original card, the striking difference in art style is likely to draw their attention as it could almost not be more opposite to the OG.
Gameplay-wise, Called by the Grave is one of the most powerful cards in the metagame right now. This Spell card not only stops many hand traps; it also serves as disruption for the opposing Graveyard. On top of that, it negates the banished opposing monster card’s effects as well as any activated effects or effects on the field of any other monster cards with the same original name. For that reason, tournament decks in Japan and Asia-Pacific restrict this card to two copies per deck while those elsewhere limit it to one per deck.
