A slew of Pokémon cards originally from ex Starter Decks: Generations [SVM] were translated and added to English Pokémon TCG set Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] where they received Master Ball Mirror versions—in their Japanese iterations from ex Starter Decks: Generations [SVM], they didn’t have this rare and coveted version. Among the cards to receive this honor was this Bronzong card.

About Bronzong Master Ball Mirror (Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] 067/131)

The original Japanese version of this Bronzong card came as part of Generations Start Deck Dialga ex & Lucario ex. That version, however, only had a single print which wasn’t a Master Ball Mirror. As such, the Master Ball Mirror version of this card which features the usual Master Ball print on its lower half as well as a “cracked ice” holofoil design is exclusive to its English version from the newly-released set Prismatic Evolutions [PRE].

The card’s illustration by Scav shows the Bronze Bell Pokémon surrounded by a mysterious aura or energy of some sort—likely that generated by Protective Bell, its Ability. It might also allude to the card’s flavor text which is taken from Bronzong’s Pokédex entry from Pokémon Violet. According to Bronzong’s Pokédex entry, Bronzong was revered as a bringer of plentiful harvests in the ancient Pokémon world because it summoned rain by opening portals to another dimension; this is perhaps what the imagery shows Bronzong doing.

Release Details

There is a Japanese version of this card; however, its Master Ball Mirror version only exists in English.

A copy of a Bronzong Master Ball Mirror (Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] 067/131) card goes for 3,110 JPY (~US$20).
