Nike Shox Ride 2 “White/Metallic Platinum/Black/Flat Gold” [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
An aesthetic that seems to have raided the art supplies of both Josh Vides and Maison Margiela.
After a short sabbatical (interrupted only by a Supreme collaboration in June 2022), the Nike Shox Ride 2 has been making sporadic appearances. We’ve seen it dressed in brown leather, channeling its inner professor, and decked out in a tech-noir “Black Phantom” getup, ready for a cyberpunk rave. Now, this springy saga continues into 2025 with the unveiling of a new speckled rendition—an aesthetic that seems to have raided the art supplies of both Josh Vides and Maison Margiela.
About the Nike Shox Ride 2 “White/Metallic Platinum/Black/Flat Gold”
With an official colorway disclosed as “White/Metallic Platinum/Black/Flat Gold”, this Nike Shox Ride 2 is like a Jackson Pollock painting for your feet, a canvas of white mesh and leather. Imagine someone went wild with a speckled brush, splattering black and silver flecks across the forefoot and midfoot with gleeful abandon, the spattering then gracefully subsiding as it approaches the collar and heel, like a gentle rain shower.
But the artistic shenanigans continues. The midsole has received the “distressed” treatment, reminiscent of Maison Margiela’s signature scuffed aesthetic, as if it’s already weathered a marathon (or at least a particularly enthusiastic hopscotch game).
This “worn” look surrounds the familiar Air and Shox cushioning combo, a pairing that promises a bouncy ride, even if it looks like it’s been through a tumble dryer. A semi-translucent outsole completes the look. It’s a surprising amount of detail for a GR, like Nike decided to sneak a high-fashion art project into its regular lineup.
Release Details
A release date for the Nike Shox Ride 2 “White/Metallic Platinum/Black/Flat Gold” has yet to be announced (perhaps they’re still perfecting the splatter pattern), but it’s expected to bounce onto Nike’s brick-and-click in the coming weeks. And when it does, prepare to be US$190 poorer.
