One of the biggest complaints surrounding Devin Booker’s first signature Nike shoe isn’t about how it performs on the court—it’s the fact that the player edition (PE) colorways seem to outshine the general releases (GRs) so much that it almost feels like Nike is rubbing it in.
Recently, Booker showed off another PE that has sneakerheads wishing they could get their hands on it—though they likely won’t be able to.

This time, the Phoenix Suns star debuted a “Solar Red” colorway for the Nike Book 1, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1995 Air Max 95. Even though Booker was born a year after the original release, he’s been a fan of the model for years, with his father also being a major admirer. If you remember, Booker wore a PE based on the classic “Neon” colorway in late 2023, months before his official signature sneaker even hit the shelves.
The Book 1 “Solar Red” PE pays homage to the Sergio Lozano-designed Air Max 95, featuring grey materials across the upper, with bright Solar Red accents on the lining and mini Swoosh. The most noticeable nod to the Air Max 95 appears on the tongue, where Booker’s signature logo is housed in the AM95’s distinct oval-shaped patch.
