ONE PIECE Card Game Divine Departure

It’s very rare that in the ONE PIECE Card Game, one of a set’s highest-value cards is an Event card. However, when Royal Blood [OP-10] released, it soon became clear that the set would be an exception in this regard. Not counting the Trafalgar Law card which is unsurprisingly the set’s most expensive card by far, Divine Departure is the card which has amassed the highest price among all the cards in Royal Blood [OP-10].

About Divine Departure (Royal Blood [OP-10] OP10-019)

The image on this card is a reference to Chapter 1079 of the One Piece manga—one of the manga’s most memorable and iconic. In that chapter, Shanks used the Divine Departure attack, which involved infusing his sword with Conqueror’s Haki before unleashing an astronomically powerful Haki-boosted blow. In the manga, the attack unleashed by the Red Hair Pirates’ captain one-shotted Eustass Kid, highlighting the large power gap between the two.

The card’s illustration focuses on the remarkable impact of Shanks’ attack which sent intense Haki-boosted shockwaves reverberating around the immediate area. The original panel from the manga not only took the One Piece fandom’s general opinion of Shanks to a new level—such was the impression it made upon the fanbase that following his crushing defeat, Kid even became an object of ridicule by many fans. The original manga chapter and panel’s status among One Piece fans is far and away the primary reason why this card is as in-demand as it is.
