Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Gem-Knight Fusion

Among the 12 Quarter Century Secret Rare cards in recently-released Yu-Gi-Oh TCG set Terminal World 2, four of them were cards featuring alternate artwork. These four cards each represented one of the four card archetypes showcased in Terminal World 2. One of those archetypes was Gem-Knight; the card from the Gem-Knight archetype given a Quarter Century Secret Rare version was Gem-Knight Fusion.

About Gem-Knight Fusion (Terminal World 2 TW02-JP069)

As has been mentioned, this card has a Quarter Century Secret Rare version which features alternate artwork; both of these factors serve to elevate the card’s value. In addition, the alternate artwork of the Quarter Century Secret Rare Gem-Knight Fusion card directly references one of the storylines mentioned in the Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Terminal Master Guide. According to Yu-Gi-Oh’s canonical material, Gem-Knight Master Diamond entrusted his longsword to Gem-Knight Lazuli after having sustained excessive damage to his crystal core. This is the scene depicted in the alternate illustration.

Another factor which is likely to increase this card’s value is the fact that it’s a reprint of a card which hasn’t seen a new version in seven years; its most recent iteration came in LINK VRAINS Pack which was released in 2017. In addition, this is the first high-rarity version of Gem-Knight Fusion that there’s ever been. As such, even this card’s Secret Parallel Rare version might be of interest to buyers because though it might not be as rare as the Quarter Century Secret Rare version, it’s nevertheless still rarer than all of the card’s earlier versions.
