[Pokémon TCG] Pikachu (S-P Promotional Cards 208/S-P) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
The first of the Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game cards to be released.
The collection of 10 promotional Pokémon TCG cards from contemporary artist Yu Nagaba’s collaboration with Creatures Inc. are some of the most coveted Pokémon TCG cards by collectors today. These cards feature Eevee, Pikachu, and all eight of Eevee’s evolutions. Every single one of those cards—including this Pikachu card—features an illustration by Nagaba in his signature line art.
About Pikachu (S-P Promotional Cards 208/S-P)
Obviously, the most significant reason behind the demand for this card is its position with the Yu Nagaba x Pokémon Card Game series. There’s a logo on the right side of the card which references its status as one of the cards in the collection. The card’s illustration obviously comes into play as well as it’s one by Nagaba himself—this is made obvious by the fact that it comes in line art.
This was actually the first of the 10 promotional cards illustrated by Nagaba to be released and the only one to be released in the eighth generation (the rest were launched in Gen 9), giving it a certain level of prestige within the collection. There’s also appeal to completionists who are seeking to collect every card in the Yu Nagaba collection. In addition, most cards—especially promotional cards such as this one—which depict Pikachu are often highly coveted as it’s the face of the entire Pokémon franchise.
