The recent release of Quarter Century Limited Pack saw only the fourth reprint of the Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon card since it debuted in 1999 as one of the Yu-Gi-Oh! True Duel Monsters: Sealed Memories promotional cards. Understandably, this therefore drew the interest of many in the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG community.

About Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon (Quarter Century Limited Pack QCLP-JP005)

Like many of the cards in Quarter Century Limited Pack, this card is a reprint of one of the oldest cards in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Therefore, just as is the case with those other cards, Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon holds a large amount of nostalgic appeal. In addition, the last time this card received a reissue was in 2015—and even that came after more than 13 years without a new Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon card. Add its rarity of Quarter Century Secret Rare in and it’s no wonder that this card is likely to be much sought-after.

The card also appeals to those who got into the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG via the Yu-Gi-Oh manga via its original ATK and DEF. Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon has an original ATK of 2800 and an original DEF of 2400. This is because in the manga, the equipping of Red-Eyes Black Dragon with Metalmorph to turn it into Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon increases both its original ATK of 2400 and original DEF of 2000 by 400 each, putting them at the figures of the Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon card.
