[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] Evil HERO Neos Lord (Supreme Darkness SUDA-JP031) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
The set's cover card is loaded with anime references.
In the Yu-Gi-Oh GX anime series, after protagonist Jaden Yuki was possessed by the Supreme King—his past incarnation—Jaden’s Elemental HERO Neos card was surrounded by a dark aura that eventually turned the card’s character evil and caused it to assume the identity of Evil HERO Neos Lord. That card has now made its real-life Yu-Gi-Oh TCG debut in Supreme Darkness.
About Evil HERO Neos Lord (Supreme Darkness SUDA-JP031)
Evil HERO Neos Lord is the cover card of Supreme Darkness largely due to its close ties to the storyline of Yu-Gi-Oh GX from Episodes 136 to 143. Many of its characteristics are directly related to those of its anime counterpart. Evil HERO Neos Lord itself is an upgraded Evil HERO Fusion form of Elemental HERO Neos. Additionally, Evil HERO Neos Lord’s in-game effect allows the player to control opposing monsters, referencing the Supreme King’s army of underling monsters. Its armor is even based on that of the Supreme King; the S-shaped pattern on it is also a reference to the Supreme King.
This card will appeal to collectors not only because it’s the set’s cover card; it can come in Quarter Century Secret Rare and is also the first Neos monster card to be an Evil HERO monster. It’s also the first-ever Neos monster to be part of a HERO sub-archetype which isn’t Elemental HERO; this adds novelty to the card. Finally, this card will appeal to those who got into the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG via Yu-Gi-Oh GX.
