In the Yu-Gi-Oh GX anime, Sartorius, the leader of the Society of Light, was the primary antagonist of the story arc bearing the villainous organization’s name. Sartorius used an Arcana Force deck; while Arcana Force EX – The Chaos Ruler is an all-new Yu-Gi-Oh TCG card released as part of Supreme Darkness which was never shown in Sartorius’ deck in the anime, it nonetheless clearly alludes to Sartorius’ deck.

About Arcana Force EX – The Chaos Ruler (Supreme Darkness SUDA-JP034)

Visually, the monster depicted on this card is shown to be a combination of Arcana Force EX – The Dark Ruler, Arcana Force XXI – The World, and Arcana Force EX – The Dark Ruler—all cards found in Sartorius’ deck. The heads of all three dragons depicted of those cards are the heads of Arcana Force EX – The Chaos Ruler. In addition, the fact that this card incorporates both Light and Dark elements means that it’s part of the Chaos series which combines the two.

In the card’s background, the Light of Destruction can be seen. In Yu-Gi-Oh GX, the Light of Destruction is a malevolent entity which can possess bodies. Throughout the events of the Society of Light arc, Sartorius was possessed by the Light of Destruction—yet another of the anime references on this card. It’s also worth noting that this card can come in Quarter Century Secret Rare as well.

On 23 January 2025, this card drops in English along with the rest of Supreme Darkness.
