[ONE PIECE Card Game] Kaido (Two Legends [OP-08] OP08-079) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Thanks to this card, the Enies Lobby ban didn't hit the Black Lucci deck as hard as many thought it would've.
A former member of the Four Emperors who lost his position following his defeat in the iconic climax of the One Piece manga’s Wano Country Arc, Kaido is one of the best-known of all One Piece villains. This is especially so considering that the build-up to the final fight pitting Kaido against Monkey D. Luffy was years in the making. His Super Rare Parallel (SR-P) card from ONE PIECE Card Game set Two Legends [OP-08] befits a character of such status as it’s a solid pick for both collectors and players alike.
About Kaido (Two Legends [OP-08] OP08-079)
The card’s Parallel Art illustration depicts Kaido at the peak of his powers. The angle of the image, from the bottom up, is positioned to emphasize Kaido’s massive body and superhuman strength—after all, there’s a reason that in-universe, he’s nicknamed “The World’s Strongest Creature”. His immense Haki capabilities are clearly shown by the crackling Haki that surrounds him. This is also arguably an allusion to his comment in the manga about how Haki is the key to ultimate power within the One Piece canon.
It’s also notable that this card is classified as a “Former Rocks Pirates” card. This alludes to Kaido’s backstory when he was part of Rocks D. Xebec’s crew, many years before the current in-story events took place. “Former Rocks Pirates” is a relatively new card designation within the ONE PIECE Card Game; this adds a level of novelty to the card.
Gameplay-wise, this card is now an important part of the Black Lucci deck. It’s typically to be played in the late game; it allows the player to trash an opposing Character card with a cost of 7 or less when played. Following this, the opponent trashes a card from the hand. This quality helps the Black Lucci deck make up for the damage recently done to that deck via the ban of the Enies Lobby card from Pillars of Strength [OP-03].
