Pokémon TCG Sparkling Crystal

The introduction of Terastallization into the Pokémon TCG necessitated the inclusion of supplementary cards designed to cater to these Pokémon with altered types. One such card is ACE SPEC Pokémon Tool card Sparkling Crystal from Stellar Miracle [SV7] which serves as a tremendous boon to any player using a deck which contains one or more Terastallized Pokémon.

About Sparkling Crystal (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 102/102)

Sparkling Crystal, like other Pokémon Tool cards, is to be attached to a specific Pokémon. In this case, it is only to be attached to a Terastallized Pokémon; when attached, the Terastallized Pokémon in question needs one less Energy card to use any of its attacks. Additionally, the Energy cards in question are not type-restricted.

Perhaps the Pokémon which makes better use of Sparkling Crystal than any other is the Dragapult ex card from Mask of Change [SV6]. It’s for this reason that the recent inclusion of Sparkling Crystal in a new Dragapult ex deck variant has caused the Dragapult ex deck’s position within the metagame to recently rise.

A major issue which had previously been holding the Dragapult ex deck back was that of getting a Psychic Energy and a Fire Energy card onto Dragapult ex in order to power up Phantom Dive, its main attack that deals a massive 200 damage. Sparkling Crystal enables the player to bypass one of those Energy card requirements and thus dish out all that damage much sooner.

The card does have a rarity of ACE SPEC as well—this is the unique rarity that all ACE SPEC cards have. The illustration also has rays of light emanating from Sparkling Crystal. This makes it appear more life-like by causing it to appear as though light is reflecting off the crystal’s surface while also casting a spotlight on the card.

Release Details

In English, this card is part of Stellar Crown [SCR] as card 142/142.

A Sparkling Crystal (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 094/102) card doesn’t cost all that much—a copy goes for just 840 JPY (~US$5.90).
