[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] Aluber the Jester of Despia (Complete File: Story of White CF01-JPS03) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
It's interesting that the main villain's card is a bigger pull than the protagonist's.
According to the Yu-Gi-Oh canon, Aluber the Jester of Despia was the primary antagonist of the Fallen of Albaz story. As such, it was always expected that with the release of Complete File: Story of White, a Yu-Gi-Oh TCG set centered around that storyline, the Aluber the Jester of Despia card would end up being one of the standouts.
About Aluber the Jester of Despia (Complete File: Story of White CF01-JPS03)
There are just five cards in Complete File: Story of White which come in no other rarity besides Quarter Century Secret Rare; this is one of them. In addition, the character’s key role in the set’s associated storyline makes this card a much-desired pickup for many long-time Yu-Gi-Oh fans, especially those who are well-versed in the in-universe lore.
This card is full of references to the Fallen of Albaz story. First and foremost, the Aluber the Jester of Despia card is a Despia counterpart of the Fallen of Albaz card just as Aluber paralleled Albaz in the story. Both cards have similar effects based on Fusion Summoning; both also have associated Spell cards which can be used to summon their respective draconic Fusion forms. In addition, both cards have the same ATK, DEF, and Level. However, Aluber the Jester of Despia isn’t a corrupted form of Fallen of Albaz, despite what some might mistakenly believe.
