[Pokémon TCG] Judge (VMAX Climax [S8b] 262/184) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Whoever said that the so-called "thirst trap" cards had to be women, anyway?
Judge is a Supporter card which has been around since the Pokémon TCG’s fourth generation. In 2009, it was released as part of the Leafeon vs Metagross Expert Deck [E] and has received many reprints since. Of the versions released since then, the standout has to be the card from eighth-generation set VMAX Climax [S8b].
About Judge (VMAX Climax [S8b] 262/184)
For six generations and 15 years, Judge has been a staple of the Pokémon TCG metagame due to its versatility; there are many decks which benefit from the card’s hand-resetting capabilities. In addition to being able to help the player out of a situation in which the player has a difficult hand to work with, the card can also be disruptive by forcing the opponent to shuffle a highly viable hand back into the deck, thus possibly stalling the opponent’s momentum.
Historically, Judge cards have never really been among the standouts from the perspective of collectors. However, the card from VMAX Climax [S8b] is the exception because, in the reverse of the usual “female character value boost”, it’s the only one that depicts Judge as a stereotypical “eye-candy” male character in a Full Art illustration. Add in its rarity of Super Rare (SR) and it makes sense that of the many versions of the card, this is the one that has the largest price tag.
