For the first time in the history of the ONE PIECE Card Game, a Leader card featuring Buggy has been released. Fittingly, it came as part of Emperors in the New World [OP-09]—the set centered around the Four Emperors, the four most powerful pirates in the One Piece canon and the group of which Buggy was officially named as a member at the conclusion of the Wano Country Arc.

About Buggy (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-042)

Long before this card’s release, a large number of ONE PIECE Card Game fans had been urging BANDAI to release a Leader card depicting Buggy. This was largely because Buggy has become something of a “cult hero” character among the fandom due to his extremely unconventional character arc; he’s also likely to play a major role in the events of the manga’s ongoing Final Saga.

Many players also expect the deck built around this card to garner some level of metagame relevance and thus make consistent appearances in tournament play. Should such be the case, this card will remain in much demand as long as it remains a core card of the meta.

Release Details

The English version of this card will be released as part of the English launch of Emperors in the New World [OP-09] in December 2024.

Buying a Buggy (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-042) card of LP rarity costs 3,000 JPY (~US$21).
