Up until now, there hadn’t been a ONE PIECE Card Game Leader card featuring Nico Robin, the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist. This changed with the release of Emperors in the New World [OP-09]—and it’s already garnered a relatively large amount of interest for several reasons.

This is not only the first-ever Leader card depicting Robin; from a gameplay perspective, many expect decks built around this card to have serious metagame potential. The character shown isn’t this card’s only first—it’s also the first time that there’s been a Leader card with a Banish effect. As a result, decks built around this card might have access to various strategies which no other decks do, giving it at the very least a niche position in the meta—and perhaps its deck will become a meta staple eventually.

From a collector’s standpoint, this card gets the usual “female character value boost”. Additionally, the value of this card may continue to climb as the One Piece manga gets closer to its conclusion because Robin’s role in the storyline is likely to increase. As the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist, Robin is the only member of the crew who knows how to read the Poneglyphs—the stone structures with information about the Void Century and the One Piece itself, all written in an ancient script.

Release Details

As is the case with all the other Emperors in the New World [OP-09] cards, this card’s English translation will be out in December 2024.

The price of a Nico Robin (Emperors in the New World [OP-09] OP09-062) card of LP rarity is 2,800 JPY (~US$19).
