[Update 27 Aug 2024] The information about this card’s Japanese version is now out: it will be part of the Stellar Tera Type Starter Set Sylveon ex [SVLN] where it will be card 002/022.

The Japanese version of this card will be released with the rest of the Stellar Tera Type Starter Set Sylveon ex [SVLN] on 30 August 2024. The English version, meanwhile, will be part of the Surging Sparks Three Pack Blisters and released on 8 November. Unlike the Japanese version, the English version will come in cosmos holofoil.

By way of an image uploaded to PokéBeach, it’s now been confirmed that a promotional Pokémon TCG card featuring Zapdos will be released at some point in the future.

About Zapdos (SVP Black Star Promos 157)

The card’s illustration depicts the Electric-type Legendary bird fittingly surrounded with electric energy. Amplifying this effect is the blue-grey background with a vortex-like shape—perhaps implying that Zapdos is stirring up a massive lightning storm.

It’s interesting to note that this Zapdos card was revealed on its own with no mention of Articuno and Moltres, its Legendary bird counterparts from the first generation. That said, with this card now revealed, it would be somewhat expected for corresponding promotional Articuno and Moltres cards to be eventually confirmed for release.

It isn’t known if this card will be released in Japanese. Additionally, its retail price isn’t yet known. Stay with us as further information comes in.
