First introduced as the Dragon-type specialist and Opelucid Gym Leader in fifth-generation main series Pokémon video game Pokémon White, Iris’ popularity among the Pokémon fanbase increased exponentially after featuring as the female protagonist of the Gen 5 Pokémon anime.
