Pokémon TCG Future Booster Energy Capsule

Fernando Cifuentes’ stunning triumph at the Pokémon TCG World Championships could not have been possible without the Future Booster Energy Capsule card from Future Flash [SV4M]. Future Booster Energy Capsule is a crucial part of the strategy of the Iron Thorns ex deck—apart from the titular card from Crimson Haze [SV5a], this Pokémon Tool card is the deck’s most important card.

About Future Booster Energy Capsule (Future Flash [SV4M] 062/066)

Future Booster Energy Capsule bestows the most welcomed gift possible upon the Iron Thorns ex deck: mobility. Ordinarily, Iron Thorns ex has a retreat cost of four Energy cards. However, since Iron Thorns ex is a Future Pokémon, this otherwise massive retreat cost is negated when Future Booster Energy Capsule is attached to it, allowing free rotation of the deck’s Iron Thorns ex cards—its only Pokémon.

The perks don’t stop there. The Future Pokémon that Future Booster Energy Capsule is attached to deals 20 additional damage with each attack. Thus, Iron Thorns ex’s Volt Cyclone attack strikes for 160 damage per hit with this card attached. For additional synergy with Iron Thorns ex, Volt Cyclone moves an Energy card from the Active Iron Thorns ex to a Benched Pokémon. This would normally take Iron Thorns ex further away from fulfilling its retreat cost; however, this issue is bypassed when Future Booster Energy Capsule is attached.
