In the Battle Maison, an in-game “challenge mode” introduced in sixth-generation video games Pokémon X and Y, Battle Chatelaine Dana is the final boss of the Triple Battle format. While this mode of play has largely been sidelined as far as the video games are concerned, the character herself has retained a considerable fanbase—leading to the high value of this card from seventh-generation set GX Ultra Shiny [SM8b].

As is so often the case, any card featuring a Full Art illustration of a female character will get a value boost. Adding to this, the hype for all things related to Gen 6 is likely to increase rapidly due to the upcoming release of Pokémon Legends Z-A, the game which will serve as a prequel to X and Y.

There’s also something for completionists. Dana is one of four final bosses of the Battle Maison alongside her sisters Morgan, Nita, and Evelyn. In addition to the fact that all their respective cards also benefit from the “female character value boost”, many will also seek to complete the set of four.
