When eighth-generation set Eevee Heroes [S6a] was first launched in 2021, it almost immediately became one of the biggest hits in Pokémon TCG history. With Eevee and its eight evolutions being among the most popular Pokémon among the fanbase, the set was always in prime position to be a major success. One of the many cards from that set which ended up generating immense demand was Espeon V.

This Super Rare (SR) card’s Full Art illustration depicts the Psychic-type Eeveelution using its telekinetic powers near a bookshelf, sending an array of books airborne. In addition to the in-character illustration which serves as a showcase of Espeon V’s psychic abilities, there are also several further references on the book covers such as images of a Ditto, a Poké Ball, and a Shiny Eevee.

The illustration’s gentle colors and art style further bring out the cozy, intimate setting that makes the card appear endearing and inviting. Finally, the fact that Espeon V is looking directly at the lamp is also a reference to the video games. This is because Eevee can only evolve into Espeon when the player raises Eevee’s Friendship level beyond a specific threshold—but only during the daytime.
