The vast majority of cards in the recently-released ONE PIECE CARD THE BEST [PRB-01] are reprints of existing ONE PIECE Card Game cards. However, even among the relatively few new cards, one of them has emerged as the clear standout. That card is this Sanji card.

Given the fact that the number of new cards in this set is dwarfed by the number of reprints, any new cards would inherently be more sought-after. Additionally, the popularity of Sanji as a character has skyrocketed among the fanbase following his portrayal by Taz Skylar in Netflix’s live-action version of One Piece. Thus, while not gaining the usual type of “demographic boost”, this card nevertheless receives the benefits of a similar effect.

There’s also been much speculation that this card will go on to make a significant impact in the metagame. Many serious players have already begun theorizing strategies on how decks centered around this card might be used in tournament play; the fact that this has happened so soon after the card’s launch bodes well for its competitive future.

This card isn’t yet out in English.

The price of a Sanji (ONE PIECE CARD THE BEST [PRB01-001]) card of LP rarity is 10,000 JPY (~US$65).
