Singapore serves as the launchpad for Salomon and L’Art De L’Automobile’s sophomore capsule collection. Uniting the realms of high-performance footwear and motorsports, the two brands deliver restomodded versions of the XT-4 and SPEEDCROSS 3, leveraging the pedigree of two French powerhouses.

For this second go-around, Arthur Kar, founder of L’Art De L’Automobile (also “fashion’s favorite dealer of rare, vintage automobiles”), drew inspiration from the prestigious heritage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as his memories of childhood amidst the intoxicating hum of his family garage.

The XT-4 OG, a seminal piece from Salomon’s golden age, discovers an unlikely soulmate in the Porsche GT Mobil1, a byword for late-nineties motorsport elegance. These two icons of their respective realms form a harmonious duet, a testament to the enduring power of design synergy.

This iteration, cloaked in the tricolore, pays reverent homage to Le Mans without compromise to the XT-4 OG’s core identity: the Agile Chassis Skeleton, dual-density EVA cushioning, and Quicklace system remain intact.

The SPEEDCROSS 3 shares the same chromatic identity while amplifying its off-road prowess. Its iconic lug pattern, a hallmark of its lineage, guarantees an unyielding grip on any terrain, coupled with the precision of Sensifit and the swiftness of Quicklace.

Salomon x KAR Collection Release Details

As the roar of Formula One engines ignites Singapore in September, this special Salomon x KAR collection echoes racing culture’s fusion of precision engineering and style. The collaboration caters to the discerning adventurer, a breed equally at home conquering urban jungles or scaling literal ones.

To celebrate the release, a limited-edition t-shirt awaits those who secure their pair at the Bugis Junction store, valid only on 10 August. For the design aficionados, a pop-up exhibition, just outside the store from 9 to 18 August, delves deeper into the interesting intersection of Salomon’s technical blueprint and KAR’s sartorial savoir-faire.

The collection launches at Salomon’s Bugis Junction store on 10 August, with a digital one following suit on sg.salomon.com on 12 August.
