[Pokémon TCG] Eevee Goes Green: Poncho-wearing Eevee (SM-P Promotional Cards 142/SM-P)
Another of the extremely popular Poncho-wearing Eevee promotional card series.
Released as part of a 2017 campaign at Pokémon Centers and other participating stores across Japan, the eight Poncho-wearing Eevee cards that each depict Eevee wearing a poncho resembling one of its eight evolutions are among the leading promotional Pokémon TCG card of Gen 7—to this day, they’re still greatly sought-after by collectors.
The Poncho-wearing Eevee card shown here features Eevee wearing a poncho that looks like Leafeon. The card’s green plaid background matches the Grass-type Eeveelution’s color scheme while the card implies that the Eevee shown wants to eventually evolve into Leafeon more than any of the other Eeveelutions.
Poncho-wearing Eevee’s attack is shown as “Leaf Blade?” with a question mark. This shows that the Pokémon using the attack isn’t actually Leafeon, but an Eevee “cosplaying” as one. Finally, the fact that this card won’t be reprinted due to its exclusive campaign-related status gives the card’s value a significant boost.
This card was never released in English.
The sale price of a Poncho-wearing Eevee (SM-P Promotional Cards 142/SM-P) card is 61,000 JPY (~US$399).
