Pokémon TCG Galvantula ex

The Indigo Disk, the second DLC of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games, introduced the Terastallization-exclusive Stellar type. When this mechanic was adapted for the Pokémon TCG, it was done in a way that called to mind the Crystal Type mechanic of the TCG’s second generation. A total of four Stellar-type Pokémon were introduced in Stellar Miracle [SV7], the Stellar type’s debut set.

Of the four Stellar-type Pokémon in Stellar Miracle [SV7], two have the Special Art Rare (SAR) rarity: Terapagos ex and this Galvantula ex card. The card’s Full Art illustration is replete with crystalline patterns and aesthetics that call to mind the Terastal phenomenon. Galvantula ex itself can be seen with the crown of Tera Shards encircling its head, representing the fact that it has Terastallized into the Stellar type.

The sharp diagonal lines running across the card’s background resemble lightning bolts, referencing Galvantula ex originally being an Electric-type Pokémon before Terastallization. Additionally, its other type of Bug might also be alluded to; the background pattern of the crystal shapes might arguably be vaguely web-like. Above all else, however, the main draw of this card is the fact that it’s not only one of the first-ever Stellar-type Pokémon TCG cards; it’s also one of the two rarer ones of the quartet.

This card hasn’t yet been released in English.

A Galvantula ex (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 128/102) card carries a price tag of 3,000 JPY (~US$19).
