[Pokémon TCG] Cards Like Dachsbun ex Certainly Aren’t a Dime a (Baker’s) Dozen (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 129/102)
One of the few Pokémon that doesn't just have a name pun, but a visual pun as well.
Prior to the release of Stellar Miracle [SV7], the newest Pokémon TCG set, not many would’ve foreseen a Dachsbun ex card becoming one of the biggest pulls from the set. After all, the Fairy-type Pokémon has never particularly figured as a major fan favorite among the Pokémon fanbase. However, once the card’s visuals were revealed, it became clear that this would be one of the set’s most prized cards.
This card’s Full Art illustration is the main reason why demand for this card has exceeded expectations. It’s an image that captures Dachsbun ex’s nature perfectly—the Dog Pokémon is shown placidly reclining in front of a spread of food. The use of gentler colors throughout the image further brings out the calm tone of the illustration—one which makes many buyers wish they were there with Dachsbun ex. (Though admittedly, there’s another somewhat darker interpretation to this image—but 1) that has nothing to do with the card’s value or demand and 2) this isn’t the time or place.)
The Dachsbun ex card is one of just six Special Art Rare (SAR) cards in Stellar Miracle [SV7]. When combined with the visually appealing illustration, this card’s value gets boosted beyond what many would’ve assumed despite not being one of a Stellar-type Pokémon or a Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC The Indigo Disk, upon which Stellar Miracle [SV7] is based.
The English version of this card will be card 169/142 in the upcoming Stellar Crown [SCR] set.
The retail price of a Dachsbun ex (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 129/102) card is 2,200 JPY (~US$14).
