[Pokémon TCG] Terapagos ex (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 130/102) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
How about this to introduce the Stellar type to the Pokémon TCG with a bang?
[Update 3 Oct 2024] This card is now one of the centerpieces of the Terapagos ex/Dusknoir deck. This is because with the Area Zero Underdepths card from Stellar Miracle [SV7] in play, a full Bench allows Terapagos ex to strike for a massive 220 damage while requiring just one Double Turbo Energy card.
Terapagos is the Pokémon around which Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC The Indigo Disk is centered. Therefore, it only stood to reason that a Terapagos card would be among the biggest pulls of Pokémon TCG set Stellar Miracle [SV7]—a set based on the Indigo Disk. The Special Art Rare (SAR) Terapagos ex card certainly lived up to the hype.
The card’s illustration depicts Terapagos ex in its Stellar form, a form only obtainable after it has Terastallized. It’s also the most powerful of the three forms of the newest Legendary Pokémon to be introduced to the Pokémon canon.
The Full Art illustration is full of ornate patterns befitting the mystique of Terapagos ex. It’s also replete with crystalline and spectral aesthetics, reflecting Terapagos ex’s color scheme and general appearance. While not outright shown, it’s implied that Terapagos ex is resting in its cave at the bottom of the Area Zero Underdepths.
This card, like a few others in this set, was used as a mechanism to introduce the Stellar type to the Pokémon TCG. Stellar-type Pokémon use Energy cards of various types to attack. Stellar Pokémon can therefore be considered something of a spiritual successor to the short-lived Crystal Pokémon of the TCG’s second generation; Crystal Pokémon made use of a similar mechanic.
The English version of this card isn’t out yet; however, it’s known that in English, this card will be card 170/142 in Stellar Crown [SCR].
A copy of a Terapagos ex (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 130/102) card carries a price tag of 9,900 JPY (~US$63).
