[Update 22 Jul 2024] News broke earlier about Bandai’s Tekken 8 collaborating with Nike on the Air Foamposite One Premium silhouette, and now the Japanese company has released a first look at the shoe in a “Fate” makeover. Take a peek at the gallery and stay tuned for the official images!

The Nike Air Foamposite One has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, with OG colorways like “Metallic Red”, “Anthracite”, and “Eggplant” returning to the delight of old-time fans. Building off that inertia are the “Royal” and “Copper” colorways in 2024, alongside the anticipated return of the “Galaxy” in 2025. However, a few more surprises are in store for Foams fans before the year’s end.

In lieu of Tekken’s 30th anniversary and the release of Tekken 8, Bandai Namco Entertainment, its maker, and Nike collaborate for a special two-pack of Air Foamposite Ones, with the “Fist” edition already unveiled and the titular “Fate” edition set to follow.

The Tekken 8 x Nike Air Foamposite One “Fate” boasts a color palette of Photon Dust, Metallic Dark Grey, Off-Noir, Dragon Red, and Anthracite.

This colorway aligns with the upcoming “Fist Meets Fate” figurine releasing in September, further enriching the Tekken storyline. The iconic battle between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima continues its historic narrative, not just on screen, but also translated onto the Foamposite One.

While official images haven’t been released yet, early samples suggest a design mirroring the “Fist” edition, featuring an inverted color scheme. Additionally, the custom outsole graphic departs from the blue “FIST” outline, replaced by a red-outlined “FATE” inscription. Just like its “Fist” counterpart, the “Fate” edition will be packaged in a special commemorative box.

The Tekken 8 x Nike Air Foamposite One “Fate” is slated for a September 2024 release through Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers. Available in men’s sizing, this collaboration is expected to retail for US$250.
