[Pokémon TCG] This Promotional Cramorant Card Gets the Stamp of Approval (S-P Promotional Cards 226/S-P)
A card which, when it was first released, had one of the most unexpected means of obtaining it of any Pokémon TCG card ever.
When most people think of Cramorant in the Pokémon TCG, the first card that usually comes to mind is the card from Lost Abyss [S11] which is a staple of the Lost Zone Box deck. However, from the collector’s standpoint, a different Cramorant card is the clear standout: the one which is part of the S-P Promotional Cards.
This card is a major acquisition because of its scarcity. It was primarily distributed to winners of three lotteries held between July and September 2021, coming as part of the Pokémon Stamp Box set. The only other way to obtain this card was by purchasing it at the 2021 Japan World Stamp Championship Exhibition, held from 25 to 30 August 2021.
The card’s Full Art illustration is a Pokémon-themed take on Utagawa Hiroshige’s ukiyo-e painting Wild Geese Flying Under the Full Moon, one of the most iconic of its kind. This is also why the card was issued as part of the Pokémon Stamp Box set and why it was sold at the Japan World Stamp Championship Exhibition; Wild Geese Flying Under the Full Moon is one of the stock images used on official Japanese stamps.
This card was never released in English.
The price of a Cramorant (S-P Promotional Cards 226/S-P) card is 12,500 JPY (~US$77).
