[ONE PIECE Card Game] The Claws Come Out: Rob Lucci (500 Years in the Future [OP07-079])
Collectors and players alike have given this card fresh demand.
It isn’t all that often that a specific ONE PIECE Card Game card has both storyline and metagame relevance, boosting its desirability on two fronts. This effect is further amplified if the card in question happens to have a Parallel Art illustration as well. In the case of the Rob Lucci card from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07], all three apply.
This card depicts Lucci after having used the power of the Cat-Cat Fruit, Model: Leopard to transform into a leopard/human hybrid. Since 500 Years in the Future [OP-07] is a set based on the events of the manga’s ongoing Egghead Arc, it’s almost certain that the image shown alludes to Lucci’s fight against Monkey D. Luffy during which Lucci did tap into his Devil Fruit abilities. Since Lucci has continued to have a relatively prominent role in recent manga chapters, it’s somewhat expected that this card has gained relatively significant traction among the fandom.
Gameplay-wise, the Black Lucci deck has been on the rise in the current meta, especially since the release of this card that caused the new version of the deck to supersede the previous iteration featuring the Rob Lucci card from Pillars of Strength [OP-03]. This has also driven up the card’s demand.
Finally, this card has a Parallel Art illustration which has two other characters who work alongside Lucci as CP0 agents in its background. In addition to the higher rarity of the card’s Parallel Art version, the illustration’s relevance to the canonical material undoubtedly gives this card additional appeal.
This card has already been released in English.
The price of a Rob Lucci (500 Years in the Future [OP07-079]) card of L-P rarity is 2,600 JPY (~US$16).
