Nike Adapt Shoes and App Discontinued
On 6 August, the Swoosh's Adapt App will be retired. In tandem with this, the Nike Adapt line will cease production as well.
If you own a pair or two from the Nike Adapt line, don’t delete your Adapt App just yet. On 6 August 2024, Nike will remove the app from Apple and Android app stores. Those who already have the Adapt app will still be able to use it.
According to Nike, users “won’t be able to move the app to a new device, and future iOS updates may limit or end functionality, or may completely remove the app from your device.”
Additionally, after the Adapt App’s retirement, those who have selected a specific color within the app will still be able to retain it. Those who don’t have the app after its discontinuation will only be able to access the default color.
All things considered, there isn’t much of a change for those wearing a pair of Nike Adapts. According to the Beaverton-based footwear company, it’s just a matter of performing the functions manually.
For Nike, this move is in tandem with the discontinuation of their Adapt shoes. Likely a strategic move by the Swoosh as they bounce back from an underperforming fiscal quarter.
