A longstanding partnership deepens as BEAMS, the renowned Japanese select shop, joins forces with BIRKENSTOCK, the German legacy brand, for a special edition Zürich sandal.

Originally launched in 1966 as an evolution of Birkenstock’s first model, the Madrid, the Zürich sandal receives a special treatment for this release. BEAMS takes a bold approach, reimagining the upper with an all-over embossment of Birkenstock’s signature bone pattern. Traditionally found on the outsole, this iconic motif takes center stage, adding a unique textural element to the classic taupe suede upper.

In lieu of its collaborative nature, the insole features a dual logo treatment—BIRKENSTOCK’s alongside BEAMS’ for the first time. Beyond the striking visual elements, the Zürich sandal retains its core elements. The sophisticated color palette, the functional buckles, and the comfortable cork footbed remain.

The BEAMS x BIRKENSTOCK Zürich sandal will be available in unisex sizes at BEAMS brick-and-click stores from 5 July, with an RRP of 23,100 JPY (~US$140).

For those able to, customers who purchase the sandal at BEAMS Harajuku will receive a limited-edition “uchiwa” fan (while supplies last) and can attend a launch party commemorating the release.
