For the third time in the same generation, Earthen Vessel is part of a Pokémon TCG set. After prior appearances in Ancient Roar [SV4K] and the Ancient Koraidon ex Starter Deck & Build Set [SVHK], this Ancient Item card is back again in Night Wanderer [SV6a]—this time as an Ultra Rare (UR) card.

The gold background and borders of this card as well as the outline of the same color that surrounds the Earthen Vessel call attention to its extreme rarity. The Full Art illustration is also placed in such a way that it appears as though rays of light are illuminating the Earthen Vessel. This not only places a further (figurative AND literal) spotlight on the Earthen Vessel itself; it also highlights the general primitive aesthetic found on the item.

Another cause for this card’s increase in value is its gameplay utility. Earthen Vessel is a staple of many different decks. Raging Bolt ex, Ancient Box, Roaring Moon ex, Gardevoir ex, and Chien-Pao ex are some of the decks which incorporate this crucial card into their respective general strategies. This splashability makes it highly sought-after by countless players.
