Pokémon TCG Dragapult Lost Zone Box Deck

The release of Mask of Change [SV6] brought with it a card that’s already become an unquestioned metagame staple: Dragapult ex. With its massive maximum HP of 320, high damage output and Energy card efficiency, and difficulty to counter, every serious player Pokémon TCG now had to put this card on their radar.

While many players chose to make the Pokémon TCG’s newest behemoth the centerpiece of their decks, a smaller yet sizable contingent opted to combine Dragapult ex’s characteristics with the main features of the Lost Zone Box deck. Thus, the Dragapult Lost Zone Box deck came into being.

This highly versatile deck first makes use of the Comfey and Colress’s Experiment cards, both from Lost Abyss [S11], to rapidly fill up the player’s Lost Zone. As soon as the player has at least seven cards in the Lost Zone, Mirage Gate—another Lost Abyss [S11] card—can be brought out. By using Mirage Gate to pick up a Fire and a Psychic Energy card apiece, Dragapult ex will be in position to unleash massive damage via its Phantom Dive attack.

Just like the original Lost Zone Box deck, filling up the Lost Zone also sets up the Cramorant card from Lost Abyss [S11]. With four or more cards in the Lost Zone, Cramorant’s Spit Innocently attack strikes for 110 damage without any need for Energy cards. Sableye from that same set, meanwhile, is a solid mid-game to late-game alternative option.

Once the player’s Lost Zone has 10 or more cards in it, Sableye can attack with Lost Mine and spread 120 total damage across the opponent’s Pokémon however the player sees fit—often picking up KO’s or setting up easy pick-offs by doing so.

The total price of all the cards in a Dragapult Lost Zone Box deck is at least 13,200 JPY (~US$84).
