[ONE PIECE Card Game] The Clone’s Almost As Good As the Original: S-Snake (Two Legends [OP-08] OP08-112)

As strange as it may sound, this card is only the pull it is because of Boa Hancock—that being said, at this point it's an impressive get in its own right.

ONE PIECE Card Game S-Snake

A cloned version of Boa Hancock, S-Snake was introduced as one of the seven Seraphim intended to replace the Seven Warlords of the Sea as one of the Three Great Powers. Like her counterparts, she was introduced during the One Piece manga’s ongoing Egghead Arc. Her current role in the latest plot developments is therefore one key reason behind the high value of this card from the newly-released ONE PIECE Card Game set Two Legends [OP-08].

Another part of the card’s and character’s appeal is the link to Boa Hancock. The captain of the Kuja Pirates has always been a fan favorite, especially among the demographic that makes up the majority of the One Piece fanbase as a whole. As such, Hancock has featured on some of the rarest and most valuable ONE PIECE Card Game cards ever.

This Super Rare (SR-P) card takes advantage of this association by clearly highlighting aspects of S-Snake which are related to Hancock. Her earrings and hair, both of which resemble Hancock’s, are clearly displayed in the illustration. The heart motif present throughout the image is another such reference; it alludes to the Love-Love Fruit, Hancock’s Devil Fruit of which S-Snake has the same powers—albeit by way of an Artificial Zoan version.

As is so often the case, the fact that this card depicts a female character jacks up the demand for it. However, with S-Snake it’s a slightly different scenario than the usual because a decent portion of her popularity is tied to the much greater popularity of the character from whom she’s cloned.

This card’s English release date is yet to be announced.

The price of an S-Snake (Two Legends [OP-08] OP08-112) card of SR-P rarity is 2,900 JPY (~US$18).
