[Pokémon TCG] The Holofoil Mirror Card Is the Boss’s Orders Version to Seek (Start Deck 100 [S1] 406/414)
Gusting cards will almost certainly be a key part of the meta in perpetuity.
Ever since its introduction to the Pokémon TCG in eighth-generation set Rebellion Crash [S2], Boss’s Orders has been a staple of the metagame that’s been part of a great many decks. For that reason, it’s been reprinted again and again since then to keep it up-to-date with each new rotation.
Each version of this Supporter card features a different leader of a villainous team from the Pokémon universe. As of right now, there are five which are tournament-legal, though all have the same gameplay effect. Of these five cards, the one with the highest value is the mirror holofoil version of the Boss’s Orders card from Start Deck 100 [S1].
The Start Deck 100 [S1] iteration of Boss’s Orders features Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic. While on the surface it appears to be an ordinary Supporter card, the fact that it comes in mirror holofoil greatly increases its value. The card received a reprint due to the fact that its prior version from VMAX Climax [S8b] with Lysandre of Team Flare on it would be removed from the rotation before too long.
Boss’s Orders is a standard gusting card; it allows the player to forcibly switch out the opponent’s Active Pokémon, putting a potentially vulnerable Pokémon in its place. This can often set the player up to pick up an easy KO by manipulating matchups. For this reason, it’s an extremely splashable card that fits into countless decks regardless of those decks’ respective overarching strategies.
While many English translations of Boss’s Orders do exist, the mirror holofoil version from Start Deck 100 [S1] only has a Japanese version.
According to the latest figures, a Boss’s Orders (Start Deck 100 [S1] 406/414) card with mirror holofoil goes for 3,500 JPY (~US$22).
