[Pokémon TCG] Arven: Meta-Relevant and an Impressive Pull? Yes (Violet ex [SV1V] 099/078)
Here's one which will especially appeal to those who picked Violet over Scarlet.
The protagonist’s companion throughout the Path of Legends storyline of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games, Arven’s character arc was one of the most compelling of any in those games. This was one of the key reasons why this Super Rare (SR) card ended up becoming a major pull from the Violet ex [SV1V] set.
The card’s Full Art illustration shows the son of Professor Turo (not Sada because this card and its set specifically refer to Pokémon Violet) holding an old page—likely containing information from the Violet Book which contains details about Future Paradox Pokémon—while lightly tossing a Poké Ball upwards in his other hand.
Additionally, the forest shown in the background is almost certainly the place where Arven searches for the Herba Mystica—the five unique plants that turn a Pokémon into a mega-sized Titan Pokémon. It’s this implementation of details from the video games that many Pokémon fans will appreciate.
This card is also a viable addition to many Pokémon TCG decks intended for tournament play. It’s a solid draw engine because it allows the player to take an Item card and a Pokémon Tool card from the deck, allowing the player to obtain the cards needed at just that moment.
In English, this card is 235/198 in the Scarlet & Violet [SV1] set.
One copy of an Arven (Violet ex [SV1V] 099/078) card of SR rarity goes for 2,700 JPY (~US$17).
