More than 14 years after being killed off in the One Piece manga, Portgas D. Ace remains one of the series’ most popular characters. Despite not even being alive during the manga’s post-timeskip segment, the former member of the Whitebeard Pirates nicknamed the “Fire Fist” is still beloved by many in the fanbase—which is a big reason why he was put on one of the rarest and most valuable cards in the ONE PIECE Card Game set 500 Years in the Future [OP-07].

The Parallel Art illustration on this Secret Rare Parallel (SEC-P) card shows just why Ace has the epithet that he does. Surrounded by flames, Ace is shown unleashing the powers he was granted via the Flame-Flame Fruit, channeling the beginning of a fiery vortex.

The image of Ace shown on this card is implied to be from before the Post-Enies Lobby Arc—specifically the Duel at Banaro Island when Ace was defeated by Marshall D. Teach. In the process of that duel, Ace lost his iconic orange hat—which is shown on this card, thus its position on the actual timeline. This is a detail which avid One Piece fans are likely to notice and potentially be won over to this card by.

This card’s English version will be released on 28 June 2024 with the rest of 500 Years in the Future [OP-07].
