ONE PIECE Card Game Green/Black Perona Deck

Recent shifts in the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame have led to several decks specializing in late-game play beginning to gain more of a tournament presence. For example, while the Green/Black Perona deck wasn’t necessarily one of the most common decks around in prior metagame eras, its stock is likely to start rising soon because of those changes.

The Perona card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] which serves as the deck’s Leader card is able to rest an opponent’s Character with a cost of 4 or less while also reducing an opposing Character’s cost by 1 during that turn. This card pairs nicely with the Ryuma card from the same set which automatically picks up the KO on any of the opponent’s rested characters with a cost of 4 or less.

However, where this deck truly shines is in the late game. The idea is to rest the opponent’s Blocker by using the Perona card’s cost-reducing effect and combining it with the Tsuru card from Paramount War [OP-02]; that card reduces the cost of an opposing Character by 2 during that turn. This combination is especially potent in the late game when the opponent is more likely to have readied high-cost Characters which are able to deal serious damage.

When mulliganing, the most important cards to look for are Kozuki Momonosuke from Romance Dawn [OP-01], Otama from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07], and Inuppe from Wings of the Captain [OP-06]. These cards serve as the deck’s main draw engines and are critical to ensuring that this deck’s main strategy proceeds smoothly.

The total cost of all the cards in a Green/Black Perona deck is at least 59,770 JPY (~US$385).
