[Update 24 Jul 2024] The release of Two Legends [OP-08] has given the Yellow Enel deck a new variant. The set’s Nami card has become an important addition to the deck; it’s a viable option that not only serves to easily KO opposing low-cost Characters but also functions as a draw engine.

ONE PIECE Card Game Yellow Enel Deck

Following the release of the 500 Years in the Future [OP-07] set and the impact on the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame which it unleashed, certain decks saw their stock significantly rise. Among these decks was the Yellow Enel deck—one which is expected to see a lot more play in coming tournaments.

The most obvious point of note about this deck is the fact that the Enel card—the deck’s eponymous Leader card from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05]—makes it so that whenever the player runs out of Life cards on the opponent’s turn, the player may add a card from the top of the deck to the player’s stack of Life cards before trashing a card from the hand. For this reason, this deck is particularly effective during late-game scenarios in which the player can obtain board control without suffering significant Life depletion.

Other key cards in this deck include Charlotte Katakuri from Pillars of Strength [OP-03], Yamato from Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04], and Portgas D. Ace from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07]. These cards are mainly used first to attack opposing Characters before going after the opponent’s Life in the late game once the player has set up multiple crucial Character cards.

When mulliganing, those three cards are among the cards to be prioritized. Another card to take note of for the mulligan is the Gedatsu card from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05]. A card at its strongest during the mid-game, Gedatsu instantly KOs an opposing Character with a cost equal to or less than the number of the opponent’s Life cards. During the mid-game, the opponent will be likely to still have a reasonable number of Life cards while also beginning to bring out their heavy hitters.

The cumulative price of every card in a Yellow Enel deck is at least 35,490 JPY (~US$231).
