[Update 22 Oct 2024] As shown on PokéGuardian, the images of all 18 headliner cards, each ex Starter Deck box image, and the ex Starter Decks: Generations logo have now been publicized. Browse the gallery for the images.
Additionally, the collective acronym for all nine ex Starter Decks will be [SVM].
Following the success of the ex Starter Decks from a year ago, these decks will be making a return. A total of nine Pokémon TCG decks featuring two new Pokémon-ex each will form the ex Starter Decks: Generations collection to be launched on 22 November 2024.
Each of the nine decks represents one of Pokémon’s nine generations. In each deck, one of the two Pokémon-ex cards will feature a Legendary Pokémon. The exception is the deck representing Generation 1. In that deck, instead of a Legendary Pokémon-ex and a non-Legendary Pokémon-ex, there will be a Pikachu ex card and a Snorlax ex card.
The Pokémon-ex in each deck are as follows:
- Gen 1: Pikachu ex and Snorlax ex
- Gen 2: Lugia ex and Tyranitar ex
- Gen 3: Kyogre ex and Blaziken ex
- Gen 4: Dialga ex and Lucario ex
- Gen 5: Reshiram ex and Amoonguss ex
- Gen 6: Xerneas ex and Noivern ex
- Gen 7: Tapu Koko ex and Mimikyu ex
- Gen 8: Zacian ex and Alcremie ex
- Gen 9: Koraidon ex and Clodsire ex
While no international release date has yet been confirmed, it’s expected that each of the 18 Pokémon-ex will appear in an English set at some point in 2025.
The price of each of these nine decks will be 850 JPY (~US$5.50).
