Animanga magazine CoroCoro has been one of the primary driving forces behind the success and growth of the Pokémon franchise over the years. Countless new fans have been brought to the Pokémon TCG and video games by this icon of the subculture as well as its sister magazines CoroCoro Bessatsu and CoroCoro Ichiban.

Everyone who buys a copy of the upcoming June 2024 issue of Corocoro Ichiban will receive a promotional Zarude card bundled with it. It will be the second time that the Mythical Pokémon is featured on a promotional Pokémon TCG card; the first was in 2020.

This card will be a holofoil card and feature the logos of CoroCoro Ichiban and Pokémon Fan, a Pokémon magazine published by the same people behind CoroCoro. The use of these logos highlights the ties between Pokémon and CoroCoro while also accentuating the fact that this is a CoroCoro promotional card.

The card’s illustration likely depicts Zarude in the Forest of Okoya—an in-universe location exclusive to the Pokémon anime movie the Pokémon Movie: Secrets of the Jungle. This is because, in video games, Zarude was purely obtainable as a direct DLC during specific events and not as any in-game encounter—not even a DLC one.

This card is unlikely to ever have an English release.
