A key figure during the Wano Country Arc, Yamato was one of Straw Hat Pirates’ key allies during its events. On multiple occasions, his combat skill was on clear display—as shown on the illustration of this card from the Kingdoms of Intrigue [OP-04] ONE PIECE Card Game booster pack.

The illustration on this Super Rare Promotional (SR-P) card shows Yamato wielding Takeru, his massive kanabō. Yamato used this weapon many times throughout the Wano Country Arc against various foes, eventually establishing the weapons as something that came to define the character. The card’s holofoil adds to the emphasis on his kanabō, giving it a metallic glint.

Although it would in this case be inadvertent, the “female character value boost” once again comes into play. Yamato is a trans man and is therefore assumed by many in-universe to be a woman—and this effect even extends to real life where some less-informed fans might also assume the same.

On a related note, this same feature also increases the card’s desirability in another way: its appeal to LGBTQ+ players and collectors. Many of them will be particularly interested because representation often tends to be relatively sparse; hence, when such a valuable card depicting a character who is LGBTQ+ arises, that subsection of the fanbase will likely increase their demand for it.
