New Balance 991v2 “Nimbus Cloud”: A Classic Gets a Modern Upgrade

Set to arrive sometime in 2024.

The legendary New Balance 991 just got a modern update! The 991v2 arrived late last year, building on the legacy of the original with some modern tweaks. These sneakers are crafted in the famous Flimby factory in England, known for its top-notch quality.

The 991v2 “Nimbus Cloud” strikes a perfect balance between style and comfort. The upper is a mix of buttery pigskin suede, nubuck leather, and breathable mesh, all in a range of cool greys. The light “Nimbus Cloud” suede pops against the darker mesh base for a look that’s both sophisticated and versatile.

New Balance made some subtle branding changes too. The classic silhouette gets a contemporary twist with a new 991 logo on the heel and a small “v2” on both the heel and tongue. There’s also the iconic N logo on the midfoot and a “Made in England” label on the tongue for a touch of heritage. Down below, a comfy FuelCell midsole and a matching grey rubber outsole complete the look.

The New Balance 991v2 “Nimbus Cloud” drops in 2024 at New Balance stores and select retailers, both online and in-person. It comes in unisex sizing and will retail at US$250.
