[SNKRDUNK Streetsnaps] ComplexCon Hong Kong 2024

A photographic reportage of ComplexCon's first edition outside the United States.

From 22nd to 24th March, Hong Kong played host to the inaugural ComplexCon outside the US. The convention was a celebration of street culture, a showcase of its many facets. Nonpareil in delivering an experience on all fronts.

From exhibitors, special guests, to attendees, the corps d’elite in fashion, art, and culture walked amongst the crowd:

Pre-eminent trailblazers such as Hiroshi Fujiwara, Jeff Staple, and Futura; ComplexCon Hong Kong’s Creative Director Verdy, Takashi Murakami, and Yoon Ahn; joined by a plethora of equally reputable names such as Feng Chen Wang.

Exclusive launches were, as expected, a major draw with the likes of CLOT launching the CLOT x Crocs Classic Clog with a huge installation, and Takashi Murakami’s BLACKPINK collaboration and “Ohana Full-Bloom” Slides selling out long before the event was over.

Complex Con Hong Kong was indubitably a feast for the senses, beyond the vibrant mix of visual and auditory stimulation, food vendors like The Whisky Library, SILK x Cookie Department added another layer of enjoyment.

But of course, fronting the Complex Food Festival is McDonald’s, complementing their offerings with their specially designed collection with Verdy.

Beyond the shopping and socializing, ComplexCon offered some intellectual stimulation too. ComplexCon(versations) panels featured industry vanguards sharing their insights, before culminating in the Complex Live! concert headlined by 3CORNERZ (Edison Chen, MC Yan and Chef), Simon Dominic, and 21 Savage.

Overall, the first-ever ComplexCon Hong Kong transcended expectations. A vibrant symphony of street culture. A true celebration of its multifaceted energy. Attested to by the impressive installations, artist showcases, and the de facto dress code à la mode of all present. All of which you can see more of in the gallery above!
