In January 2024, BANDAI introduced the Extra Booster series, designed to be an accompaniment to the main ONE PIECE Card Game sets. The first Extra Booster set to be released was Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01].

Characters chosen to feature in this set were largely those that had amassed much fan appeal yet never had much of a spotlight cast upon them in the ONE PIECE Card Game up to that point. One such character was Shirahoshi, the Princess of the Ryugu Kingdom who’s featured on this Super Rare Promotional (SR-P) card.

Visually, the card initially appears somewhat basic. Shirahoshi is depicted underwater, floating on her back. The standout aesthetic element, however, is the holofoil. Its spectrum-like effect creates the illusion of light streaming into the water and dispersing throughout, making the background appear much more life-like.

As is almost always the case, a full-body image of a female character draws much attention due to fanbase demographics. Additionally, the illustrator deliberately played up the character’s sex appeal. Shirahoshi is depicted near-topless with her massive tail placed at an angle that doesn’t obscure her midsection. This imagery is finished off by her eyes which aren’t fully open.

Like the rest of the Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01], this card’s English version will be out in May 2024.

The retail price of a Shirahoshi (Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB01-057]) card is 3,000 JPY (~US$20).
