[Update 19 Nov 2024] The Japanese reprint of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] has arrived early at certain retailers. It has been sold on the Pokémon Center’s online store as well as at C-Labo’s Tsudanuma store since 14 November 2024.

[Update 24 Oct 2024] This time around, a reprint is coming not only for Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a]; it has already begun for 151 [MEW], its English version.

The sale of reprinted cards from 151 [MEW] began on 21 October 2024 with the unannounced release of the 151 5-Pack Mini Tins Bundle. Following this, more reprinted 151 [MEW] cards will be on the way via the Blooming Waters Premium Collection in February 2025.

As for the Japanese version Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a], distributor listings have shown that booster boxes containing its reprinted cards will be available from December 2024 at Pokémon Centers and selected retailers across Japan. There haven’t yet been any announcements on booster boxes containing English 151 [MEW] cards.

Price-wise, the 151 5-Pack Mini Tins Bundle sells for US$29.99. No other item prices have yet been revealed.

[Update 18 Jun 2024] A second reprint of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] has reached stores in Japan. The first group of booster packs and boxes in this second reprint arrived on 16 June 2024.

This reprint isn’t quite as substantial as the first one. The total volume of cards to be reprinted is projected to be at around 50-70% of that of the April 2024 reprint.

[Update 19 Apr 2024] The reprint of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] has arrived ahead of schedule—the first reprinted booster packs and boxes made their way onto selected store shelves across Japan on 18 April 2024.

One booster pack sells for 290 JPY (~US$1.90) while a booster box carries a price tag of 5,800 JPY (~US$38).

When the Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] expansion set was first released in June 2023, it sent shockwaves throughout the Pokémon TCG community—especially among older players and collectors who’d been Pokémon fans for decades. By playing to these players’ and collectors’ sense of nostalgia, Creatures Inc. scored an absolute megahit. Cards and booster packs from Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] ended up becoming 2023’s biggest sellers.

Given such demand, many had been wondering when the next mass restock of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] will take place. Well, that question has now been answered—according to Pokémon Japan, an upcoming new print run will see Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] restocked in stores across Japan starting from May 2024.

Almost immediately after Pokémon Japan’s announcement, prices of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] booster boxes began to drop. For example, the price of a Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] booster box on the SNKRDUNK app is now 14,999 JPY (~US$99), down from 20,000 JPY (~US$132) at its peak. This price is expected to further fall as the reprint date nears.

No information has yet been confirmed regarding a reprint of the 151 [MEW] expansion set, the English version of Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a].
